Our Trainings
The following trainings may be customized and offered as interactive workshops or presentations, held in-person or virtually.

Mission Ready: Nonprofit 101
Not every charitable idea needs its own nonprofit. This workshop helps prospective founders better understand the operating, financial, and legal structures that distinguish the nonprofit sector and ask the right questions to determine whether starting a nonprofit is right for them.

Board Governance Essentials
This training equips new and aspiring board members, founders, and nonprofit leaders with a clear understanding of how effective governance works—and why it matters. Participants learn the foundational roles, responsibilities, and structures that ensure a nonprofit is legally compliant, mission-focused, and strategically guided.

Leading With Purpose: The Role of the Board Chair
This training positions new and incoming board chairs for strong leadership. Training topics include the unique role of the board chair, leading effective board meetings, building a strong chair-executive relationship, driving board accountability and engagement, shaping strategy and governance discipline, and succession planning.
Interested in a topic not listed above? No problem! Let Lavin Strategies design a workshop for your board or leadership team.
